To Honor or Profane

Today, we’re diving into the foundation of our Five-Star Charge values: Honor.

When we think of honoring God, we’re reminded of Jesus’ words in the Lord’s Prayer: “Hallowed be Your name.” This word “hallowed” means to make something holy, to set it apart with reverence. Honoring God is more than just a statement; it’s a lifestyle choice that shows others how much His presence means to us.

The Call to Honor

To honor God means that every choice, word, and action reflects our deep respect for Him. The opposite of hallowing His name is to profane it. Living a life that disregards His ways or takes His grace lightly profanes the holiness He deserves.

As men called to live by a higher standard, our goal is to let our lives reflect His holiness. Imagine your words and actions being a living testimony that God is holy and worthy. This doesn’t mean perfection, but a heart that consistently chooses to lift Him up in all areas of life.

Expectations of Honor

In Grace Ops, honor calls us to:

  • Respect God with our thoughts and actions.

  • Reflect His holiness in our lifestyle choices.

  • Serve others with humility and integrity as an expression of His love.

Call To Action

  • As you consider how to grow in honor, take a moment to ask God directly:

  • “How can I honor You in a greater way?”

  • Spend time in prayer and reflection, listening for any specific guidance He places on your heart.

We’re walking this journey together, each of us working to hallow His name in our unique ways. Every small step of honor matters and contributes to the greater mission.
