Today, we’re focusing on the final value in our Five-Star Charge: Valor.

Life often presents moments that demand courage. On the battlefield of life, we’re called to face fear and stand firm, even when it would be easier to step back. True valor is not the absence of fear—it’s choosing to move forward despite it. As the saying goes, “Do it afraid.” This courage equips us to represent God, even in challenging spaces and moments of tension.

Called to Courage

Joshua 1:9 powerfully captures God’s call to each of us: “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Just as God promised His presence to Joshua, He is with us as we step into situations that test our strength. Courage, rooted in faith, enables us to be unwavering representatives of His truth.

Speaking in the Gate

Psalm 127:5 speaks of men who “shall not be put to shame when they speak with their enemies in the gate.” In biblical times, the gate was a place of influence and decision-making, and today, we are called to stand in our own “gates”—our workplaces, communities, families—and courageously uphold God’s kingdom in these spheres. Valor means having the strength to speak and act boldly on His behalf, regardless of opposition.

Living a Life of Valor

At Grace Ops, living with valor means:

  • Facing fears with courage, knowing God is with us every step of the way.

  • Stepping into places of influence and speaking up for God’s truth, even when it’s uncomfortable.

  • Reflecting God’s strength, showing that we will stand firm no matter the cost.

Call To Action

  • Pray and ask God to reveal an area in your life where you can step up with courage. Whether it’s a conversation, a decision, or a personal challenge, commit to taking action this week with valor.
